Alberta M. Wiese

Alberta M. Wiese, 84, of Wood River, NE died Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Tabitha at Prairie Commons, Grand Island, NE.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with Reverend Don Pobanz officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation hours will be on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Apfel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church. Alberta was born on April 18, 1940, at Palmer, NE to Richard and Esther (Barth) Husman. She attended school in Chapman, NE. Alberta was united in marriage to Gary Wiese on July 31, 1960, in Grand Island, the couple made their home outside of Wood River where she was a dedicated farm wife and mother.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Platt Duetsche, enjoyed teaching Sunday school and working with children.

Alberta is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Calvin & Diane Wiese of Grand Island and Marvin & Denise Wiese of Doniphan; grandchildren: Lacie & Christopher Whitted of Olympia, WA and Makayla Wiese of Grand Island.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Joe Husman; and sister, Bonnie (Husman) Clark.
