Alice “Faye” Brown, 83, of Grand Island died, Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Tabitha at Prairie Commons of Grand Island.
Funeral services will be at First-Faith United Methodist Church in Grand Island on April 8, 2024, at 10:30 A.M., with Rev. Ray Stone officiating. Burial will follow in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Apfel Funeral Home – Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements, online condolences may be left at www.apfelfuneralhome.com.
Alice Faye Brown was born January 16, 1941, at Lewellen, NE to Frederick K. and Edith M. (Robins) Starkey. She grew up and received her education in Ogallala.
Faye was united in marriage to Jerry D. Brown, March 8, 1959, in Ogallala, Nebraska, moving to Grand Island in 1966, where she worked as the office manager at J.I.L. Asphalt, retiring after 44 years.
She was a member of The Eagles Auxiliary serving president for two terms and Rolling Eagles Camping Club.
She enjoyed camping, reading, doing various crafts and computer.
Those left to cherish this memory include two daughters & son-in-law: Vicky L. & Stephen Hoch of Grand Island and Stacy J. Nunn of Hastings; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry in 2017; one son, Duane C. Brown; 7 sisters; and 4 brothers.
