Alice M. Kottwitz

Hastings resident, Alice M. Kottwitz, 94, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Services will be Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 2 PM at the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 5 PM to 9 PM and Wednesday, June 16, 2010 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and one hour prior to service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Alice was born July 6, 1915 to Charles Otto and Myrtle (Johnson) Johnson in Hastings, NE. She attended Hastings Public Schools. She married Fred E. Kottwitz on January 10, 1931, he passed away October 15, 1990. They lived on a farm near Blue Hill, NE. They moved to Hastings, NE in 1933. She worked at the Jack and Jill Grocery as a meat wrapper for over 30 years. She was a member of the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Hastings, NE. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Ann John and husband Weir, and Jan Lukas and husband Jim all of Hastings, NE. 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and 1 son-in-law, Robert Lubken of Trumbull, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, her daughter Bonnie J. Lubken, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 2 half-brothers and 6 half-sisters. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE.
