Former Hastings resident, Amelia E. Mildred Holsten, 87, died Friday, June 8, 2007 at Memorial Community Care, in Aurora, NE. Services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE, with the Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Monday, 4 PM to 9 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mrs. Holsten was born, January 9, 1920 to Adam and Katherine (Fox) Streck in Hastings, NE. She married Hilding Jack L. Holsten December 6, 1927. She was a homemaker, She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an exceptional cook and loved to garden and she was a talented china painter. She was employed by the Hastings Tribune. She was a member of the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church and the China Bells, in Hastings, NE. She is survived by 3 daughters, Barbara Dobesh and husband Jerry, of Billings, Montana, Sandra Brown and husband Bill of Grand Island, Ne and Patricia Linder and husband Max of Lincoln, NE. 12 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. 1 daughter-in-law, LaDonna Holsten of Lincoln, NE, 3 sisters, Geri Egbert and Eleanor Jones, both of California, and Betty Ellen of Hastings, NE, 2 brothers, Wilbert Streck and Donald Streck both of Hastings, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack and 1 son Ron. Memorials may be given to the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE.
