Ann Blessin

June 7, 1941 — May 2, 2017

Kearney resident and former Holstein resident, B. Ann Blessin passed away, Tuesday, May 02, 2017 at the Kearney Regional Medical Center, Kearney.



Services will be Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Evangelical Free Church, 4010 East 7th Ave., Kearney, with Pastor Brian Klein officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 pm at the Wanda Zion Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, rural Juniata with Rev. Lon Landsman officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Mayl 7, 2017 from 2 pm to 6 pm with family present from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings, 505 N. Bellevue, Hastings. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw is in charge of the arrangements.



Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date.



Ann was born June 7, 1941 to Emil E. Sidlo and Ada May (Smith) Sidlo in Jet, OK. She was baptized and confirmed in March of 1960 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland, CO. She graduated from the Red Cloud High School; in 1959 then attended Central Community College in Hastings. She married Harold Blessin in Loveland, CO on October 2, 1959, Harold passed away in 1992. She worked at Pioneer Village in Minden for 3 years, Woolworth in Hastings for 11 years then worked at Home Care and Companion as an aid. She was also a homemaker.



She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Kearney, Church Bible study groups, Ladies Auxiliary American Legion #305, Holstein and the Stephen Mission. She was actively involved with her church family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and collecting knickknacks.



She is survived by

three sons, Robert (Lisa) Blessin of Southerland, NE

Raymond (Angie) Blessin of Big Springs, NE

Russell (Michelle) Blessin of Greenwood, NE

One daughter, Regina Wagner of Hastings, NE

Nine Grandchildren

Justin (Amber) Blessin, Zachary (Josey) Blessin, Dan Wagner, Heather (Josh) Boerma,

Jessica (Henry) Cross, Stephanie (Ryan) Hoover, Jennifer (Josh) Rice, Andy (Catie) Blessin,

And Teryn Blessin,

15 great-grandchildren and two arriving soon

three brothers, Emil Jr. (Mary) Sidlo, Jerry (Lori) Sidlo and Ronald (Cheryl) Sidlo

four sisters, Judy Coaly, Linda (John) Swenson, Patty Shumate and Ramona (Andy) Andrew

one sister-in-law, Ruth Ohlsen

numerous nieces and nephews.





She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold, two brother-in-laws, Larry Coaly and Neil Ohlsen.
