Anna Clair A.C. Codner, 67, of Grand Island died Sunday, January 22, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Grand Island.
A celebration of her life will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Grand Island Evangelical Free Church. The Rev. Dan Brenton will officiate. Burial will be in the Shelton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Grand Island Evangelical Free Church.
Memorials are suggested to the Myositis Association, Grand Island Literacy Council or the Nebraska Childrens Home.
Anna Clair Codner was born August 23, 1949, at Kearney, Nebraska to George and Louise (Cage) Codner. She grew up on a farm Southeast of Shelton and attended District 57 School, and graduated from Shelton High School in 1967.
Anna Clair continued her education at Kearney State College graduating in 1971. She taught school in Silver Creek and Columbus. She later furthered her education, receiving her Pharmacy degree from Southwest Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Anna Clair worked as a pharmacist in Newton, Eldorado and Wichita, Kansas until her retirement in 2005.
She moved to Grand Island in 2006, where she attended the Evangelical Free Church, and volunteered with the Grand Island Literacy Council.
She enjoyed singing, going to movies, dining out, Husker sports and her cat, Bella.
Anna Clair is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Wain and Dixie Codner of Grand Island; niece, Melissa Codner of Roscoe, Montana; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her nephew, Kyle Codner.
