Anna Lee Young, 97, of Grand Island, Nebraska passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 3, 2021.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday November 9, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 22nd and Wheeler with Bishop Duane Fuller officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service on the same day. The family will be receiving friends and acquaintances at that time. Apfel Funeral Home of Grand Island is assisting the family.
Interment will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Mrs. Young was born September 8, 1924, at Mount Vernon, Missouri to Oscar and Mary (Rowe) Ford. She grew up in Mt. Vernon and received her education at Mount Vernon Schools.
She was united in marriage to Eddie Young on August 14, 1943, in Neosho, Missouri, after which the couple lived in Mount Vernon until 1946 when they moved to Grand Island, Nebraska. She was a homemaker and devoted mother to two daughters, a grandmother to seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She fulfilled many callings in her church such as a leader in the Woman’s organization as well as a teacher. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her pies.
Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Haycock of Nampa, ID and Beverly Young of Dannebrog, Nebraska: seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Ford of Grand Island, Nebraska and Willard Ford of Tennessee and a sister, Judy Reynolds of Mount Vernon, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Young, her parents and seven siblings
