Former Juniata resident, Annabelle Gangwish, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Waverly Care Center in Waverly, NE. Services will be Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Hastings, NE, with the Rev. Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, NE. Visitation will be Friday, April 23, 2010 from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Annabelle was born August 15, 1919 to John and Mary (Heaston) Snell in Juniata, NE. She lived in Atchison and Concordia, Kansas during her early child life. She lived in Juniata, NE most of her life, moving to Waverly, NE, in 2006. She married Harlow C. Gangwish on December 6, 1939; he passed away in August 14, 1996. She was a member of the Juniata Community Church, in Juniata, NE were she was a Sunday school and Bible school superintendent. She was also a member of the Dorcas Circle. She was a librarian for the Juniata Public Library and the Juniata Elementary School and worked as a Para Professional at the school. She was a member of the Goodwill Extension Club. She served as Most Excellent Chief Hastings Pythian Temple, Grand Chief Pythian Sisters of Nebraska and Supreme Representative Pythian Temple. She is survived by 1 daughter, Mary Gangwish of Waverly, NE, 2 sons, Ron and wife Terry Gangwish of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Alvin and Marilee Gangwish, of Minden, Nevada, and 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harlow, 14 brothers and sisters. Memorials may be given to the donors choice.
