Ardyce Fern Earl

Ardyce F. Earl, 93, of Grand Island, NE died on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Azria Health Broadwell in Grand Island. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Apfel Funeral Home. Rev. Bev Hieb will officiate. Burial will follow in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Ardyce was born on December 2, 1927, in Chadron, NE to Clement and Julia (Bailey) Earl. She started her schooling in Chadron, but the family moved to the Grand Island area, and she graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1945.

For thirteen years Ardyce ran a fruit and vegetable market, worked in several different stores, and the Grand Island Eggplant. In 1959, she began working at the Veterans Administration Hospital until 1977. In 1981 she earned her Associate of Applied Science Degree as Dietetic Technician from Central Community College in Hastings.

Ardyce volunteered for the Extension Office teaching their home-based classes and at Goodwill Center as a training specialist and later was hired on as a staff member at Goodwill. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, The National Federation of the Blind (president for six years) board member for the Goodwill Center for Independent Living and was a peer support volunteer for Assistive Technology.

She is survived by her nephew, Lawrence Pucci; niece, Stephanie Pucci and her sister, Marian Pucci.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
