Augustus William Clark

February 21, 1920 — May 29, 2013

Augustus W. Bud Clark, 93 of Grand Island died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Wedgewood Care Center. Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with the Rev. Bob Rhodes officiating. Inurnment of the ashes will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church. Bud Clark was born February 21, 1920 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the son of Augustus W. & Florence (Witman) Clark. He grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania and received his education from Reading High School graduating with the class of 1937. He entered the United States Army/Air Corp, April 6, 1942 and served until December 6, 1945 when he received his honorable discharge. Bud met the love of his life, Lois Ziggafoos, at the Grand Island Army/Air Force Base. They were united in marriage, June 4, 1945 in Reading Pennsylvania. The couple later moved to Grand Island in 1945 where he was a salesman for Service Center Auto Company, Kinman Chevrolet/Cadillac and retired from Hamilton Chevrolet/Cadillac. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and bowling. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Grand Island, Masonic Lodge, IOOF, and 50 year member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Lois Clark of Grand Island; daughter & son in law, Patricia & Dennis Deines of Grand Island; son, Steve W. Clark of Grand Island; two grandchildren: Deborah & Shawn Pollack of Papillion, NE and David and Kelli Deines of Clive, Iowa, five great grandchildren, Tanner, Hunter, and Skyler Pollock of Papillion, NE, Mia and Drew Deines of Clive, Iowa; one brother & sister in law, James T. & Claire Clark of Reading, Pennsylvania.
