Barbara J. Marousek

Barbara Julia Marousek, 77, of Grand Island died Friday September 21, 2018 at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Michael Reiners officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Suicide Prevention.

Barbara was born on January 6, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Harold and Julia (Becker) Blatt. She grew up in Detroit where she received her education, and later attended Concordia Teacher’s College in River Forest, Illinois where she pursued her teaching degree, and then taught in California for 35 years. After her teaching career came to an end, she was employed by Disneyland for ten years.

Many of her hobbies she loved included bowling, golfing, playing slot machines in Las Vegas, and watching football, especially the University of Michigan.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three sons, Jeffrey Mark of Ord, NE, Timothy John of Ontario, CA, Kevin Paul of Corona, CA; and one daughter, Terri Lynn of Grand Island; Six grandchildren; One great-grandchild; and one brother, Richard Blatt of Chicago, IL.

Barbara was preceded in death by her grandson, Bradley Charles Marousek.
