Beatrice G. Rohrer

Hastings resident, Beatrice G. Rohrer, 103, College View, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 2 PM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel, Hastings, NE with the Dr. William E. Deahl Jr officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Book signing will be Wednesday, March 15, 2006 from 8 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family to, www.brandwilson.com. Miss Rohrer was born June 21, 1902 to Elias B. and Nellie L. (Stiles) Rohrer in Sterling, Illinois. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1920 and attended Hastings Business School of Commerce. She was employed by the Lincoln Telephone Company, Hastings, NE retiring in 1967 after 31 years of service. Following retirement she volunteered for the Adams County Red Cross, the Mary Lanning Hospital Auxiliary and the Tehama Shrine Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a life member of the Hastings Business & Professional Women's Club, a member of the Frank H. Woods Telephone Pioneer Association, the Mary Lanning Hospital Auxiliary, and former member of the Tehama Shrine Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by cousins, R. Russell Butzirus and wife, Rita, Robbin J. Butzirus and family all of Jacksonville, Florida, Beckie Butzirus Munson and family of Austin, Texas, and friend Marie Rassmussen of Hastings, NE. She is preceded in death by, her parents and one brother Russell L. Rohrer. Memorials may be given to the Adams County Red Cross or personal choice.
