Inland resident, Belden E. Cushing, 64 passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 at his home. Services will be Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 11 AM at the Stockham Community Church in Stockham, NE, with Pastors Paul Nauman and Chris Lyon officiating. Burial will be in the Stockham Cemetery, Stockham, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2011, from 11 AM to 9 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, Harvard, NE. Condolences may be sent to www.brandwilson.com. Belden was born September 4, 1947 to James H. and Darlene (Belden) Cushing in Aurora, NE. He graduated from the Harvard High School in 1967. He worked as a truck driver for Morrison Quirk Grain Company, as a forklift driver for the N.A.D. Ordinance Plant in Grand Island, NE and as an electrician for Hastings Industries for 30 years. He was also a welder and draftsman for Jim Lindquist, INC and farmed for Dave Hamburger and was a fireman and EMT for the Harvard Fire Department. He was a member of the Stockham Community Church where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher, a member of the Boy Scouts of America and a lifetime member of the Int. Assoc. of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. He is survived by his wife Betty, of Inland, NE, two sons, Belden Jr. and wife Rebecca of North Platte, NE and Thomas and wife Angel of Allen Kansas, one daughter Dawn Nunnenkamp and husband Bradley of Saronville, NE, seven grandchildren and 1 great grandson, step-mother, Audrey Cushing of Grand Island, NE, five brothers, Donald and wife Kathy of Harvard, NE, Harold and wife Barbara of Grand Island, NY, Robert and wife Soling of Phillips, NE, George and wife Karen and Arthur all of Harvard, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Fawn. Memorials may be given to the Stockham Community Church, in Stockham, or the Harvard Fire Department in Harvard.
