Hastings resident, Bernard W. Jungert, 84 of 1524 West 12th, died Friday, April 21, 2006, at Perkins Pavilion, GSV, Hastings, NE. Services will be April 25, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, NE with military rites. Visitation will be Sunday, April 23, 2006 from 4 PM to 9 PM and, Monday, April 24, 2006 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and up till service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mr. Jungert was born, July 3, 1921 to Matthew and Lena (Gehrmann) Jungert in Huron, SD. He married Gladys Hartman. He was a Gunner Sergeant in the Marine Corps for 20 years serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He worked 28 years for J.C. Penney and 5 years at Shopco in shipping and receiving. He worked at the Hastings Medical Park for 5 years in maintenance. He was a member of the First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Pearl Harbor Survivors, past president of the Eagles Aerie # 592 and the VFW Club all of Hastings, NE. He is survived by his wife Gladys, 1 son, Garry Cornell of Duval, Washington, 3 daughters, Bonita Gangstad of Fairmont, NE, Patricia Quig, and Pamela Buck both of Hastings, NE, 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 2 grandchildren & 1 great grandson. A memorial will be established at a later date.
