Hastings resident, Bernice K. Smith, 94 passed away, Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Kenesaw Haven Home, Kenesaw, NE. Services will be Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 2 pm at the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE in Hastings, NE with Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 9 am to 9 pm at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Bernice was born November 29, 1917 to Henry Fred and Elizabeth Jane (Stromer) Blomenkamp in Hastings, NE. She attended Hastings Public Schools and graduated from the Hastings High School. She graduated from the Nebraska College of Commence. She married Harold Smith on May 10, 1936, Harold passed away in 1978. She worked as an individual and business accountant book-keeper for many years for, Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Dr. John Coover, Hastings Plumbing and Heating, and Warehouse Carpeting, all in Hastings, NE. She was a member of First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, in Hastings, NE. She was a former member of the Nebraska State Board of Public Accountancy and the National Society of Public Accountants. She is survived by nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, and 3 brothers, Ervin, Clarence and John Blomenkamp.
