Bertha 'Beth' Carlton

Hastings resident, Bertha Beth Carlton, 75, passed away, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Services will be Monday, July 26, 2010, at 11 am at the Peace Chapel, inside Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village with the Rev. Ivan Schonne officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be Friday, July 23, 2010 and Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Beth was born July 12, 1935 to Merle and Eva (Hutson Sears in Alton, KS. She married Arden Conaway and they had 4 children, they later divorced. She married Harold Carlton in 1983, he passed away in 1985. She had lived in the Hastings area since 2003, coming from Red Cloud and Smith Center, KS. She is survived by 3 daughters, Linda Sears of Blue Hill, NE, Ardeana Moser and husband Tracy of Great Bend, KS, and Necia Patterson and husband Joe of Campbell, NE and 1 son McKinley "Ray" Conaway and wife Teresa of Hastings, NE. 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. 1 sister, Melba Lister of Beloit, KS and 2 brothers, Gael Sears of Revenna, NE and Keith Sears of Smith Center, KS, and 1 nephew, Lanny Blair of Great Bend, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Memorials may be given to the family.
