Betty Acker, 90, of Grand Island died Thursday, June 20, 2024, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, NE. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Island, NE. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Scotia at 2:00 PM with refreshments following at the Scotia United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Monday at Apfel Funeral Home. Betty was born on April 15, 1934, on the Sugar Ranch in Greeley County to Glen and Ethel (Tuttle) Morrow. She grew up on the farm north of Scotia, NE. She attended country school and graduated from Scotia High School in 1951.
She was united in marriage to Richard Acker on April 10, 1951 at her parents home north of Scotia, NE. After which the couple lived most of their lives in Central Nebraska where Richard farmed and Betty was a bookkeeper for G.I. Dodge.
Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church in Scotia, NE. After moving to Grand Island, NE she joined Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed making silk flower arrangements for weddings and crafts.
Survivors include her children: Richard (Nancy) Acker of Blair, NE, Debora (Don) Tejral of O’Neill, NE, Denise (Vaughn) Harders of Prosser, NE, Charles (Michele) Acker of Grand Island, NE; grandchildren: Adam (Melissa) Acker, Eric (Sara) Acker, James (Tiffiny) Widdifield, Richard (Sadie) Widdifield, Adam (Nikki) Tejral, Elizabeth (Chad) Gonka, Angela (Quentin) Witt, Rebecca (Dave) Koenig, Jill (Chad) Bucknell, Clinton (Michael) Harders, Alexander Acker, Emily Acker and fiancé Jaxson Klein; 22 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brothers: Gene (Helen) Morrow, Ernie Morrow; sisters: Elsie Ita, Ruby Davis; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; eight brothers-in-law; and seven sisters-in-law.
