Betty J. Henry 86 of St. Paul died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Howard County Medical Center, St. Paul, NE. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with the Rev. Scott Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army. Betty J. Henry was born January 1, 1927, at Grand Island, the daughter of Buss and Sadie (Sheffield) Stapleton. When Betty was young, she moved with her family to Glendale, California. She completed her education there graduating from high school. Betty began her working years in the telephone industry. She then began working in the sewing and upholstery business where she met William F. Bill Henry. She was united in marriage to Bill on June 10, 1978, at Loves Chapel at Lake Tahoe. Betty and Bill began their own upholstery business and operated it until they retired. The couple moved to Grand Island in 1989 and later moved to the St. Paul area. Survivors include her step children, William Henry, Jr. of California; Daniel Henry of Washington; and Loretta Henry of California; and a number of cousins.
