Betty L. Bartlett

Betty L. Bartlett, 85, of Grand Island, died Monday, Sept 2, 2013 at Lakeview Nursing Home, Grand Island, Nebraska. Services will be Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11 am at Apfel Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Warriner officiating. Inurnment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation hours will be one hour prior to service time at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family. Betty L. Bartlett was born October 5, 1927 in Grand Island, Nebraska the daughter of Christ & Nellie Maude (Mitchell) Johnson. She grew up and received her education in Grand Island. She was united in marriage to Wayne Cross, in 1947. She later married James R. Bartlett in 1954. She was employed as a nurses aid at Lutheran Memorial Hospital for 20 years and later at Wedgewood Care Center for three. She was a member of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include four sons and daughters in law, Lonnie & Susan Cross of Phillips, Michael Cross of Topeka, Kansas, Robert G. Bartlett of Austin, Texas, John P. & Emily Bartlett of Grand Island, Nebraska, 11 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brother & sister in law, Christ & Phyllis Johnson.
