Betty Lou Price

Betty Lou Price, 70, of Grand Island died Thursday, October 3, 2024, at her home.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday October 7th at the Grand Island City Cemetery. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Betty Lou was born August 21, 1954, at St. Paul, MN to Jerome J. and Viola B. (Griffin) Ignowski. She grew up and received her education in Lebanon, TN, Tuscaloosa, AL and Little Rock, AR. She later received her welding degree from CCC-Omaha.

Betty married Kenneth Price on December 2, 1974, in Tuscaloosa, Al.

She later lived in Murray, NE and Plattsmouth, NE working for Monfort meatpacking and Fruehauf Welding. Betty was most recently employed as a fuel station attendant at Sam’s Club in Grand Island.

Betty loved riding horses, reading, playing cards, knitting, fishing, and playing Bingo at the Legion.

She is survived by her daughter, Christy Cummings of Grand Island; brothers, Merlin Ignowski of Missouri, Michael Ignowski of Grand Island, NE, Christopher Ignowski of Grand Island, NE and Joseph Ignowski of Alda, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Viola Ignowski; brother, Gary Ignowski; grandparents, George and Alma B. Poppert and Joseph and Cecilia (Stefanoloicz) Ignowski.

All are invited to gather with Betty’s family for a luncheon at the Alda Village Hall (6410 US Hwy-30) from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM following the services.
