Betty Y. Struss

Juniata resident, Betty Y. Struss, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the University Of Nebraska Medical Center, in Omaha, NE.



Services will be Friday, September 16, 2016 at 10:30 am at the Christ Lutheran Church in rural Juniata with Rev. Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be Concordia Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 5 pm to 8 pm with family present from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw is in charge of the arrangements.



Memorials may be given to the family to be established at a later date.



Betty was born April 28, 1927 in Oak, NE to Edward and Pearl (Nelson) Gillan. She attended Oak Grade School and graduated from the Nelson High School. She married Cleo Roemmich in 1945, Cleo died July 1958. She remarried on August 21, 1960 to Harold W. Struss in Kenesaw, Harold died July 13, 1986. Betty was a housewife and homemaker.



She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, the Ladies guild, Church Quilters, Bettys Club and the Kenesaw Senior Citizens Group.



Betty enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, crafts and crossword puzzles. She loved attending the grandchildren and great grandchildrens activities. Betty was an avid Nebraska sports fan.



She is survived by son, Gary (Pat)Roemmick of China Spring, TX, daughter, Jackie (Lee) Miller of Kenesaw, son-in-law, Dean Goings of Hastings, 7 grandchildren, Robin (Wes) Rogers, Troy (Lisa) Miller, Jodi Foster, Jason (Katie) Roemmick, Brandi (Andy)Eiseman, Andy (Jade) Goings, Dustin (Asia) Goings, 6 great grandchildren, Shelly Eiseman, Cohen Foster, Noah Goings, Luis Rodriguez, Caleb Goings and Hudson Goings and numerous nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Cleo and Harold, daughter, Dixie Goings, 3 brothers, Jack, Claude and Sonny, 5 sisters, Hazel, Ruby, Darlene, Ada Belle and Mildred.
