Hastings resident, Beula Halene Muehling, 79, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings Village. Graveside services will be Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 11 AM at the Mount Hope Cemetery, near Red Cloud, NE with the Rev. Steven Peeler officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 9 AM to 8 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Beula was born on a farm October 16, 1929 to William and Dorothy (Crocker) Haresnape in Lebanon, Kansas. She graduated from High School in Lebanon, Kansas. She married Leo Muehling on June 29, 1952; he passed away May 24, 1997. She moved to Hastings, NE in 1963 from Kansas. Beula worked for the Hastings State Regional Center, Hastings, NE as a psyche-tech from 1963 until retiring. She enjoyed dancing and playing bingo. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Hastings, NE. She is survived by 3 children, Marcelene Hoffman and husband Tim of Omaha, Ne, Marsha Muehling of Hastings, NE, and Wendell Muehling of Wichita, Kansas. 2 grandchildren and 1great grandchild and several nieces, nephew and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leo, 3 brothers Tremaine, Buford and Arden Haresnape, and 1 sister Dorothy Voboril. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank all those who have helped their family throughout the years, especially Doug and Betty Billesbach.
