Grand Island

Beverly J. Cloud, 87, of Grand Island died Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in Grand Island.

Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Apfel Funeral Home with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Pastor Russell Wolf will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.

Beverly J. Cloud was born March 2, 1937, at York, Nebraska to Bonnie Theodore and Ethel Dorothy (Patterson) Cloud.

Beverly grew up and received her education in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High School in 1956.

Beverly worked for several years in food service in Lincoln Elementary School in Grand Island. She also worked at Nemano’s and Hobo Joe’s. She later worked in laundry services, 20 years at St. Francis Medical Center, then 10 years with Ameritex. She also served as a nanny for neighborhood kids over the years.

Beverly was a member of the Shiloh Temple Church with the late Reverend Earl Perkins and most recently attended Calvary Tabernacle with Pastor Russell Wolf.

She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and watching Westerns on television. She was also a Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan.

She is survived by her sons, Tim Cloud and Charles Cloud both of Grand Island; daughters, M. Eileen Watson of Lincoln, NE and Tina (Juan) Ronquillo of Grand Island; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; nephew, Jimmie (Rona) Jackson; cousins; friends; and special friend, Jessie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bonnie Theodore Cloud; her mother, Ethel Barnum; her sons, Michael and Richard Cloud; and her sister, Rose Marie Cloud; uncle, Leroy Patterson; and daughter-in-law, Karen Cloud.

Beverly will be deeply missed by her family. She was a very strong-willed, hard-working woman who was always supportive of her children’s endeavors.

Beverly’s family wishes to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Society and all of those that checked on, visited and cared for her.
