Beverly J. (Davis) Wood was born October 13, 1929, at Grand Island to Wallace and Iona (Ball) Davis. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Eugene Revis in and around Grand Island. She received her education in Cushing, NE graduating with the class of 1947. She married Dale W. Wood on September 8, 1951, at Grand Island.
Amongst her role of various jobs, Beverly was most known for her role as mom, mama, and grandma.
Beverly loved to dance, roller skate, and play cards. She spent many hours crocheting afghans and baby layettes. She loved animals and kept the neighborhood squirrels well fed. But most of all she loved time spent with family. Grammy always made sure we left with full bellies of her delicious homemade baked goodies. If you knew Beverly you knew her grandbabies were her heart and joy. Time spent at grammy’s was always time well spent.
Loved ones that will miss Beverly until they meet again are her sister Dot Wood, and husband Richard; three children Diana Rogers, Gayle Miller and husband, Dennis, and Barry Wood and wife Ruth all of Grand Island; grandchildren Heather Monson, her husband Andrew, and children, Konner, Madsen, Maison and Huxley of Grand Island; Crystal Wolfe, husband Adam and son Braxton of Lincoln; and Adam Miller, wife, Dr. Jama Obermiller, and children, Emery, Austin, Barret, Cutler and Addison of Grand Island. Also 9 step grandchildren and their families.
She was welcomed in heaven by the love of her life, her husband, Dale; her mother, stepfather, birth father, sister Faith Beck Svitak and son-in-law Jim Rogers Sr.
In lieu of memorials the family asks that you take a moment to hug your child, snuggle a grandchild, have coffee with a friend. Take time today to let those close to you know how much you care. Time is not measured by clocks but by moments.
