'Bob' Allen "'Bob'" V. Hadenfeldt

Allen V. Bob Hadenfeldt, 92, of Cairo died Friday, September 8, 2017, at Tiffany Square in Grand Island.



Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. The Rev. Brian Wright will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cairo.



Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Monday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church or the Cairo Quick Response Team. Apfel Funeral Home of Cairo is serving the family.



Allen Victor Bob Hadenfeldt was born December 28, 1924, on a farm north of Shelton to William and Minnie (Baade) Hadenfeldt. The family moved to the present family farm when Bob was 3 years old in 1927.



Bob grew up in the Cairo area attending grade school at Districts 70 -79 in Howard County and Cairo High School. His fathers ill health made it necessary for Bob to leave school in his freshman year, to help on the family farm.



Bob married Arlene Schultz on September 25, 1947, at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. The couple have lived all of their married life on the present farm north of Cairo.



Bob worked as a cattle feeder and farmer all his life, as well as running threshing machines and corn shellers for various people in the area.



He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and held various positions in the church in his earlier years. He was also a member of the Platt Duetsche.



Bob enjoyed hunting, farming and feeding cattle. Bob enjoyed baseball, and played for the Sherman-Howard league for many years. He also enjoyed dancing, traveling and bowling. He bowled in 25 National Bowling tournaments and was honored with a plaque in 2012. He and Arlene spent 16 winters in McAllen, TX.



Bob is survived by his wife, Arlene Hadenfeldt of Cairo; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Peg Hadenfeldt, and Bill and Shari Hadenfeldt all of Cairo; grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Heather Hadenfeldt of Cairo, Jason and Jennifer Hadenfeldt of Gretna, NE, John and Rebecca Hadenfeldt of Cairo, Heath and Sara Hadenfeldt of Cairo, Tracy Hadenfeldt and Nolan Wetzel of Cairo and Erika and Randy White of North Loup, NE; great-grandchildren, Abby Hadenfeldt; Jack, Madelyn, and Samuell Hadenfeldt; David & Tyler Hadenfeldt; Katie, Brooks, Colt & Kody Hadenfeldt, Will Wetzel and Landry White.



He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Everett, Harvey, Howard and Norman; and one sister, Mildred Jacobsen.
