Bonita L. Bunny Paup, 71, of Grand Island, died Thursday, April 07, 2016 at home.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at St. Marys Cathedral, Grand Island with the Reverend Richard Piontkowski officiating. A time of fellowship will follow at Catherdal Square. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Apfel Funeral Home with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St Marys Cathedral, Grand Island. Inurnment will be at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.
Bonita L Paup was born August 7th 1944 in Hartford CT the daughter of Joseph and Ariel (Roach) Zemak. She grew up in Hartford CT, Grand Island and Marquette NE, graduating from Marquette High school. She married the love of her life Francis (Frank) Paup on November 4 1967 in Aurora NE.
Bunny worked at the Marquette National Bank, and the Aurora CO-OP, and Because of her love for kids she opened a daycare and continued child care until in 1991 when Frank and Bunny moved to Loveland CO to manage Foothills Apartments, A lifelong dream they shared. During her time in Loveland, Bunny was involved with St. John the Evangelist Catholic church and school, and Holy Family Catholic School in Broomfield CO. After Franks passing in 2014, Bunny moved back to Grand Island to live with family. She is a member of St Marys Cathedral Catholic Church.
Bunny loved cooking and baking, driving thru the mountains, going to museums, and traveling. But most of all, Bunny was a devoted to her family, with two kids, seven grandchildren, one great grandson, a loving husband, a sister, devoted parents, and a huge extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and in-laws.
Her family and her faith was her whole being, she will truly will be missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her Son, Robert and Marci Paup of Grand Island NE, Daughter, Teresa Paup Green of Loveland CO Sister, LaVonne Flohr of Grand Island NE, grandchildren, Jessica Green and Jennifer Green of Grand Island NE, Logan Paup of Marquette NE, Dalton Paup of Central City and Ariel Paup of Hastings and Derrick Neighbors and Allyson Neighbors of North Platte NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Her Husband of 47yrs, Francis Paup and one infant sister, Sharon Kay.
