Burdean Alyce Christ

Burdean Alyce Christ, answered God’s call “Come Home, Burdean” on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Heritage at Sagewood in Grand Island. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Adam Snowberger officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the start of the service. A private family burial will be in Columbus, NE. 

Burdean was born on October 12, 1926, in Schuyler, NE to Sherman and Katherine (Swiickard) Stuefer. She grew up in Schuyler, NE attending school and graduating from Schuyler. 

Burdean was united in marriage to Harold J. Christ on August 4, 1943, in Sioux City, IA. The couple lived in Columbus, NE, Grand Island, NE, Colorado, and finally settled in Grand Island, NE. They had four children: Harold, Daryl, Dwight, and RaLynn. 

She would be a homemaker and also worked at Miller and Paine and Dillards in Grand Island, NE. Burdean was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and active in her church activities. Her hobbies included painting, various crafts, and writing poetry. 

Burdean was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters: Diamond, Shirley, Virginia, and Violet; brother, Quay; and daughter-in-law, Dianne (McBride) Christ. 

She is survived by sons: Harold (Linda “Coon”) Christ, Daryl Christ, Dwight (Karin “Kingsbury”) Christ, and RaLynn (Ruth “Bader” Christ); seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Dayle and Gayle Stuefer.
