Former Harvard resident, Burdette L. Konzak, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Gibbon, NE. Services will be Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 2 pm at the Harvard United Church of Christ in Harvard, NE with Pastor Dave Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, in Harvard, NE and 12 noon up till service time at the church Thursday. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the family? Burdette was born September 19, 1928 to Henry and Wilma (Hoppens) Valentin in Glenvil, NE. In her younger days she was a church organist at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church near Glenvil, NE. She married Vern Konzak on December 11, 1949 in Glenvil, NE. Vern passed away April 3, 2007. Burdette worked at the Harvard Food Mart for many years, was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Harvard United Church of Christ, in Harvard, NE and a former member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church near Glenvil, NE. She also was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Clay Center, NE where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Farmerette Extension Club and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She is survived by one son, Duane and wife Teri of Elsie, NE, one daughter, Adelle Coats of Gibbon, NE, five grandchildren, Staci Konzak, Kelly Konzak, Maggie Johnson, Shelly Auten and Brian Coats, four great grandchildren, one brother, Ivan Valentin of Glenvil, NE and one sister Mary Schroeder of Hastings, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vern, one brother Darold and one brother in law, Duane Schroeder.
