Burdette R. "Brownie" Brown

Hastings resident, Burdette R. “Brownie” Brown, passed away, Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings.



The family has postponed the funeral for Brownie due to the weather. The service will be Monday, December 2,2019 at 2:30PM at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Greg Lindenberger officiating. Private family burial will be in the Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in care of the family.

Brownie was born January 15, 1937 to Floyd D. and Zelma R. (Thompson) Brown in Ayr, NE. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1956. He served in the United States Army Reserve from October 1954 to November 1958. He married Wanda Offner on September 15, 1964 in Hastings, NE. He owned B. R. Brown Sales, he worked up till the time of his death.



He was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, Hastings. He was also a member of TPA Insurance, United Commercial Travelers.



He is survived by his wife Wanda, son Richard Lee (Katherine) Brown and grandson James Brown, two sisters, Geraldine (James) Weitzel and Barbara Brown and several nieces, nephews and friends and his beloved dogs, Bella and Chevy.



He was preceded in death by his parents.
