Carol J. Heying

Carol Joan Heying, age 82 of Grand Island, Nebraska died on August 3, 2018 in Lincoln. Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Apfel Funeral Home Grand Island with Pastor Kelly Karges officiating. There will be a private family interment. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with family present from 4:00pm to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donation may be given to charity of choice, Grand Island Human Society or Trinity United Methodist Church.



Carol was born in Clay Center Nebraska on January 20, 1936 to Ralph and Muriel (Burt) Spencer. She graduated from Grand Island High School. After high school Carol devoted herself to raising her children; while enjoying family activities and her numerous cats. She then embarked on a career at Brandies/Younkers in the cosmetics department and customer service, retiring with over 40 years of service.



She will be remembered for her devotion to her kids, her ability to make others feel good and her positive outlook.



Survivors include immediate family, son: David Lammert and his partner, Ryan Tran; daughter: Debra Shea and her husband Michael Shea; nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by her first husband: Richard Lammert; second husband: Gene Heying; parents; sister: Faye Hanover; brother: Lowell Spencer.
