Carol J. Zaugg

Carol Zaugg, 74, of Grand Island died Friday, September 7, 2018, at her home. A gathering of family and friends will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Apfel Funeral Home. Carol was born on May 23, 1944 in Winner, SD to Bernhard and Marie (Gall) Tech. She grew up and graduated from the Winner High School.

On October 28, 1967, Carol was united in marriage to La Don Howard Zaugg in Bassett, NE. After which the couple lived in Colorado, McCook, and Grand Island. She worked at The Platter, and later Grandma Max, and Leon Plastics in Alda. She had to retire due to health issues.

Carol enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and playing with her cat Lilly. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Brian Zaugg of Grand Island, Candace Zaugg of Grand Island, Laura Zaugg of Central City, Dawn (Ryan) Brewer of Grand Island; grandchildren: Kiffin Thompson, Devin Zaugg, Zachary Zaugg, Jordan Zaugg, Hannah Zaugg, Jarod Zaugg, Hunter Brewer; siblings Edwin (Bonna) Tech of Grand Island, Ron (Dee) Tech of Alda, Linda Truitt of Grand Island, Bonita Tech of Grand Island, Steven Tech of Grand Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband: La Don in 2017; and grandnephew: Kevyn Dwight-Cole.
