Hastings resident, Carol Lindgren, 90, died Sunday, September 16, 2007 at his home, 924 University, Hastings, NE. Graveside service will be Friday, September 21, 2007 at 10 AM at the Catherton Cemetery near Bladen, NE with the Rev. Art Schakat officiating. There will be no viewing this body was cremated. Book signing will be Wednesday, September 19, 2007 and Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 8 AM to 5 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Carol was born April 3, 1917 to Oscar L. and Carrie (Cather) Lindgren in Bladen, NE. He was strong in high school athletics especially in softball where he earned the nickname of Speck. During his post high school and business college years he was employed at Washington D.C. in the Department of the Treasury. He married Imo P. Paulas she passed away March 17, 2007. He was a farmer all his married life in Webster County on the original Cather estate. He worked as treasurer for the Bladen Methodist Church and Organizational member of the Webster County Hospital board. He was active with local neighbors, friends and enjoyed family water skiing trips to the Harlan County Reservoir. He was instrumental in and during his sons 4-H years. After his retirement in Bladen, he and Imo moved to Hastings and enjoy dancing and golf. Carol is survived by one son, Larry Lindgren of Anthony Kansas, one granddaughter, Susan (Lindgren) Katzberg of Prosser, NE and two great grandchildren Sharmayne and Amanda Katzberg, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Imo and 3 sisters, Charlotte (Lindgren) Shaw, Blanche (Lindgren) Nielson, Helen (Lindgren), Rakestraw, and 1 brother O.L. Lindgren.
