Carol Mae Schneider

Lincoln resident, Carol Mae Schneider, 79, passed away March 5, 2018 at Sunrise Country Monor, in Milford, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings with Pastor Dustin Bower officiating. Burial will be in the Assumption Cemetery, Assumption, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm with family present at the Apfel Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home is in care of the family.

Memorials may be given to Bryan East Medical Center, Lincoln, Morrison Cancer Center, Hastings or the Hospice Community Care, Lincoln.

Carol was born April 24, 1938 to Clyde and Bessie (Stichika) Reeve in Nelson, NE. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1956 and then attended Hastings College for 2 years. She married James A. Schneider on April 30, 1960, James passed away August 26, 2003. Carol worked as a Psychiatric Tech at the Hastings Regional Center retiring in 1999.

Carol enjoyed volleyball, basketball, football, roller derby, fishing, reading and writing. She was a life guard when she was younger. She was a member of Right to Life and past president of the first floor at Goldbeck Towers. She was also a hospice volunteer,

She is survived by 3 daughters, Barbara Schneider of Lincoln, Diane Schneider of Lincoln and Mary Schneider of Lincoln, 3 sons, Ted Schneider of Holstein, John Schneider of Assumption and Joe Schneider of Hastings, one granddaughter, Kaitlin Schneider of Kearney, 2 brothers, Norman Reeve of Nelson and Terry (Julie) Reeve of Albuquerque, NM and 2 sisters, Patsy Troudt of Nelson and Dorothy Bell of Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James and one son Anthony.
