Chad Albert Lang

Chad A. Lang, 54, of Holstein, NE died on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Apfel Funeral Home in Hastings, NE with Pastor Kathy Uldrich officiating. A private family burial will take place at the Holstein Cemetery at a later date. Gathering of friends and family will be on Monday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Apfel Funeral Home in Hastings, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Chad was born on May 10, 1970, at Superior, NE to Don and Marlene (Zubrod) Lang. He grew up in Holstein, NE and attended Silver Lake High School, graduating with the class of 1988. Chad started Langs Lawn Service in 2004 with his dad and continued to work by his dad’s side until this summer season when illness prevented him from doing so. During the winter Chad worked for the Gentert Packing Company in Holstein, NE, for several years. He served on the Holstein Village Board for 16 years and was the current Mayor for the past two years.

Chad was an avid sports fan, but rooted especially for the Dallas Cowboys. Tending to his two cats and feeding the squirrels brought him great joy. But nothing brought him more joy than his family which he cared deeply for. Chad was a hard worker who lived and loved life to the fullest. 

He is survived by his father, Don Lang; uncle, Rodney (Joyce) Lang; aunt, Phyllis Gilmore; niece, Adrian Crumm; and Haley and Trevor Pierce who he loved as his own children. 

Preceding Chad in death is his mother, Marlene Lang and sister, Jodi Marie Lang.
