Chester Felske

Chester L. Felske, 93, of Cairo, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at CHI St. Francis Medical Center. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Chet was born August 15, 1924, to Fred and Sarah Felske in Kansas City, MO. The family moved to Hall County Nebraska when he was young. His early years were spent on the farm. Chet attended Schaupsville School. The family then moved to Grand Island when he was in the 10th grade. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High.

In 1943, he joined the Navy, and was honorably discharged in 1946. Chet earned several Battle Stars while in the South Pacific.

On November 11, 1945, Chet was united in marriage to his loving wife, Joan Arp. They were married 67 years until she passed away January 1, 2013. Chet was the owner and operator of Motor Engineering for 56 years, until his retirement in 2002.

Chet is survived by several nieces and nephews.
