Former Glenvil resident, Clara Kempf, 91 died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, NE. Services will be Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, NE with the Rev. Jeff Glaue officiating. Burial will be in the Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, August 9, 2007 from 5 PM to 9 PM and Friday, August 10, 2007 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home and Cremation Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Clara was born, September 8, 1915 to William and Tena (Valentine) Hielen in Glenvil, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil, Ne. She graduated from the Glenvil High School. She worked at the Hastings College Dining Hall and the faculty dining hall at the Central Community College, both in Hastings, NE. She married Harold Kempf on March 3, 1939; in Hastings, NE, he died December 10, 1994. She was a homemaker. Clara was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil, NE, and also taught Sunday school and was in the choir. She was a member of Women of the ELCA She enjoyed knitting, reading and embroidery. In 2004 she moved to the Kensington in Hastings, NE, in 2007 she moved to the Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill, NE. She is survived by 1 daughter, Joan Classen and husband Keith of Ayr, NE. 1 daughter-in-law, Sharon Kempf, of Glenvil, NE. 7 grandchildren, Angela Dilmore and husband Will of Napa, ID, Jeffery Kempf , and Jared Kempf of Phoenix, AZ, Jayson Kempf and wife Julie of Glenvil, NE, and Julie Ochsner and husband Kevin of Kersey, CO, Todd Classen and wife Liesel of Omaha, NE, and Valerie Howard and husband Lorin of Omaha, NE. 9 great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Ashlyn and Collin Ochsner, Evie Anne Howard, Ethan Michael Classen, Paige and Faith Dilmore, and Jordan and Jenna Kempf . She was preceded in death by her husband Harold and son Darwin and her parents. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, NE.
