At our Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home Location, Kenesaw, NE. Holstein resident, Clarence George Goelz,88, died Friday,September25, 2009 at his home in Holstein, NE. Services are 10:30 A.M. Thursday October 1, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein with Rev. Ron Kuehner officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Holstein. Visitation are 9 A.M.to 9 P.M. on Tuesday and Wednesday at Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home in Kenesaw, Ne. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Holstein. Clarence was born September 19, 1921 to Albert and Rose (Rathe) Goelz in Zenesville, Ohio. He was the second youngest in his family. His Father left there family when he was 6 years old. He was put into a Home for Children in Fremont. He was 6 years old and stayed into the home until he was 14 years old. He never started school until he was 9 years old. He went to school in Freemont for 5 years. Ernest & Della Jacobitz of Holstein were his foster parents, he then went to school in Wanda for 2 years and then took a test in the 7th grade and passed it so he never got to go to high school. His foster parents needed him at home to help on the farm. He stayed with them until he was 21 years old. He then went back to Fremont. His Mother was still living. His foster parents always seen to it that he knew his brothers and sisters. He then married Eunice Marie Einspahr on February 17, 1944 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, NE. After marrying Eunice they lived in Fremont for 10 years. Then they moved to a farm in Juniata. In 1967 they moved to his foster parents farm and later they gave him the farm. Eunice past away on March 19, 2007. He is survived by two sons, Gary Goelz of Kearney and Roger Goelz of Holstein and 2 daughters. Donna (Terry) Eckhardt of Alliance, NE. and Barbara (Jay) Tracey of Hermiston, Oregon, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. One Sister: Thelma Bartling of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Foster parents, 2-Brothers: lawrence & Chester, 2-Sisters Bernice & Lou, 1-Son Gale Dean Goelz & 1-Daughter Carol Petersen. Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Holstein.
