Clarence W. Kowalski, 80 of Grand Island, died Monday, June 09, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
Services will be 2:30 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Apfel Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Harris officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Island. Visitation hours will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family to be donated to a veterans cause. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Clarence W. Kowalski was born April 12, 1934 at Philbrook, Minnesota the son of Steve & Edith (Smith) Kowalski. He received his education in Philbrook, Minnesota and entered the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in 1954 until his discharge in 1956.
Clarence was employed by Roberts Dairy and later owned Kips Drive Inn at Gothenburg, NE.
He attended Messiah Lutheran Church and was a member of the Grand Island Veterans Club and Cozad Elks Club.
Survivors include special friend and companion, Marjorie Roberts of Grand Island; one daughter, Teresa Porter of Denver, two sons, Jeff Kowalski of Denver and Tim Bolton, of Grand Island; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Dolores.
