Clayton C. Meyer, 90, of Grand Island, NE died on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at CHI Health St. Francis.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grand Island with Pastor Dan Bremer officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, November 26th at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to Lutheran Family Services or the Wounded Warrior Project.
He was born on May 26, 1931 in Palmer, NE to Fred and Sophie Meyer. He grew up in Palmer and received his education from the Grand Island Business School. He entered the Marine Corps on February 27, 1952 and served during the Korean war. He was honorably discharged on February 26, 1954. He was united in marriage to Nancy Allyn on June 28, 1953 in Palmer, NE. After which the couple lived in Grand Island where he was employed by Home Federal.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was an avid duck hunter, fisherman, golfer and loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy (Allyn) Meyer; his daughter, Katherine (Larry) Fuller; Grandchildren and their families, Brett (Jennifer) Fuller, their boys Henry and Hudson and Kyle (Emily) Fuller and their daughter, Sutton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Vernon, nephews, Randy and Chris Meyer and great nephew Keith Falldorf.
