Connie Hoagland

July 1, 1950 — February 8, 2017

Harvard resident, Connie Hoagland, 66, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings.

Services will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10 am at the Harvard United Church of Christ with Pastor Dave Johnson officiating. Book signing will be Monday, February 13, 2017 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Harvard. Burial will be at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home, Harvard is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Harvard Rescue Unit.

Connie was born July 1, 1950 to Robert and Luella (Huntley) Hogue in Geneva, NE. She graduated from the Geneva High School in 1968. She married Galen Hoagland on March 18, 1983 in Clay Center. She worked as a book keeper for several grain elevators, she was a bar keeper for the Char Bar for 10 years and had worked at the Harvard Food Mart for 8 years.

Connie was a member of the Fairmont American Legion. She enjoyed bowling, paint by numbers, reading, puzzles, and crochet. She loved to work with the public. Connie also loved her pets and all animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Sam Houge, sister, Patty Hogue, nephew, Brian Fikar and brother-in-law, Dale Mason, and a previous husband Chuck Hulse.

She is survived by her husband Galen of 34 years, 3 sons, Brent Hulse and wife Shawn, , Brad Hulse and wife Kristi and Cory Hulse, step-daughter, Tracy Stutzman and husband Todd, and step-son Nick Hoagland and wife Brenda, two sisters, Sandi Mewhirter and husband Jim and Ruthie Keenan, several grandchildren, and numerous, nieces and nephews.

The family of Connie (Hogue) Hoagland wishes to extend a heartfelt appreciation to our many friends and relatives for your prayers, food, flowers, and memorials given at the time of our loss.
