Daniel J. Peirce

Daniel J. Peirce, 55 of Hastings died on June 12, 2024, at Premier Estates of Kenesaw. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Apfel Funeral Home in Hastings, with Rev. Bev Hieb officiating. Interment at the Red Cloud Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Born to Margaret N. (Thomas) and James R. Peirce, Dan grew up in Hastings, attended Hastings Senior High School and graduated in 1987. He served in the Army for 4 years and made his home in Blue Hill for many years and then in Hastings.

Dan worked for Farris Construction in Hastings and then with MRL Crane Service in Grand Island. He was a passionate Husker football fan and was proud to have spent several years officiating in high school football. He grew up hunting and fishing along Elm Creek and the Republican River and loved is the annual deer camps with his dad, uncles, cousins and friends at the Peirce family cabin.

Dan is survived by his sister Michelle (James) Grant and his nieces Anna and Benji Grant of Lincoln, NE.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his uncles Mark and Mike Peirce and his cousin Marty.
