At Our Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home location, Harvard, NE. Harvard resident, Danny Joe Dowse, 50 passed away Friday, April 16th 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 2 PM at the Harvard United Church of Christ, Harvard, NE with the Rev. Dave Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Monday, April 19, 2010, from 12 noon to 9 pm with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, in Harvard, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Danny was born October 10, 1959 in Hastings, NE to Bradford and Leota May (McKimmey) Dowse weighing 2 lbs. 14 oz. He graduated from Harvard High School in 1978. Throughout his school years he helped with the family business - Dowses Tree Service. During his senior year of high school Danny started working for Elis Pest Control. He married his soul mate, Sheri Johnson on December 2, 1978 in the middle of a blizzard. The couple was blessed with four children. They continued to live in Harvard and Danny working for Eli until he bought out part of the business in 1991 and started Dowse Pest Control. In 1996 he decided to get out of the business and over the years worked for the City of Harvard, Harvard Char Bar, and finally Hastings Industries (later HVAC) where he worked until his health forced him to retire in 2009. On his good days Danny would start out the day with the coffee drinkers at the Black Dog Diner. He then would take breakfast to the grandkids where they would spend the day in Grandpas Day Care. Danny enjoyed hunting, fishing, tractor pulls, grilling, and an occasional party. He was very family oriented and loved reunions and large family affairs. Probably his favorite pastime was talking politics and watching MSNBC. He is survived by his wife Sheri, daughters - Danielle and husband Scott Shiley of Supulpa Oklahoma, and Caitlyn Dowse of Harvard and sons - Tony and wife Tricina Dowse of Tulsa Oklahoma, and Shane and wife Tara Dowse of Harvard. Brothers: Bill and wife Lois Dowse of Grand Island, Steve and wife Sandy Dowse of Omaha, and sisters: Sue and husband Bob Stett and Kris and husband Paul Sedersten all of Harvard and sister in law - Jane Dowse of Harvard. Grandchildren and Step Grandchildren: Treyton Griffith, Serenity & Gracie Dowse and soon to be born Baby Dowse, Kirstin & Angel Williams, Thomas Baley, JR Gwin, and Lilly Ann Robinson. He is also survived by numerous other relatives, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bradford and Leota Dowse, brother: Jack Dowse, Nephew: Bradley Byrd Hampton, Mother and Father in law - Sherm and Faith Johnson, Adopted Brother in Love Tony Wiles, and Adopted Parents in Love Dee and Jan Shambaugh.
