Darwin L. Meyer

Hastings resident, Darwin L. Meyer, 77, of 537 Boston, died Sunday, August 20th, 2006 at his home. Vigil service will be Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at 7 PM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 10:30 AM at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Hastings, NE, with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 22, 2006 from 9 AM to 9 PM, with the family present from 7 PM to 8:30 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mr. Meyer was born, February 27, 1929 to Everel and Ruth E. (Foreman) Meyer in Cedar Rapids, NE. He was raised in Wolbach, NE. He grew up farming in both Wolbach and in Ayr, NE. He married Anna Marie Mickelsen on June 9, 1948. He worked at Hastings Industries for 16 years. He owned Royal Billiards and Caf(c) for 8 years. And later did Janitorial Services and worked at Amigos until recently. He was a member of the Saint Michaels Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus where he was a past Grand Knight. He is survived by, his wife Anna Marie, 4 Sons, Brian, and Randy both of Hastings, Ronald of North Platte and Todd of Kearney. His mother, Ruth Meyer of Wolbach, NE, 1 sister, Shirley Perry of Wolbach, NE. 9 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by, his father, and 1 daughter Gloria Jean. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the St. Michaels Catholic Church or the Mary Lanning Hospice Program.
