David A. Hescock, 68, of Harvard, NE. died December 31, 2018 at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday January 4, 2019 at Apfel Funeral Home Chapel with the Bishop Duane Fuller officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Grand Island Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family.
David was born on October 5, 1950 at Grand Island, the son of Ralph Edward and Imogene Pearl (Liebhart) Hescock. He grew up in Grand Island receiving his education from Grand Island Senior High, graduating with the class of 1968. Following graduation, David entered the United States Marine Corps. in 1968 and served during the Vietnam War, receiving his honorable discharge in 1971.
On October 14, 1989 he was united in marriage to Judy Brewer at Grand Island, the couple resided in Grand Island, Lake of the Ozarks, and eventually Harvard, NE. David was employed with Union Pacific Railroad as an electrician, and while living in the Lake of the Ozarks, he owned a bait shop. While living in Harvard, he was employed by Sutton Electric as an electrician until his retirement in 2015.
Some of David’s enjoyment came from playing the guitar and restoring sports cars, he especially loved his dogs and enjoyed woodworking.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judy of Harvard; mother and stepfather, Imogene and Ted George of Grand Island; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia Stillinger of Omaha, Vikki and Chuck Kopystynsky of Omaha, Janelle and Danny Dubbs of Grand Island.
David was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Hescock and brother, Larry Hescock.
