Hastings resident, David R. Vanosdall, 88, went home to be with his Lord, Friday, December 2, 2011 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. A celebration of life gathering will be Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11 AM at the First Christian Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Dr. James Gordon officiating. There will be no visitation. Davids wishes were to be cremated. Burial will be at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brandwilson.com. David was born January 21, 1923 in Greeley County, NE to Theodore and Bertha (Gillham) Vanosdall. He married Maxine Krapp, on July 29, 1945, she passed away January 21, 2006. He worked at J.M. McDonald Co. as a shoe salesman and later for the Hastings School System. He was a member of the First Christian Church, and the Eagles Aerie # 592, both in Hastings, NE. He is survived by 3 daughters, Sharon Ehrgood (Ron Challender) of Hastings, NE, Diana Rincon and husband Nicholas of Dodge City, KS and Janet Elliot (Kenneth Smith) of Croydon, Iowa, 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers, Glenn and Wayne both of Grand Island, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Helen, his wife Maxine, son Michael David, grandson Scott Ehrgood, 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
