Denzel D. Snow, 87, formerly of Ravenna died Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Tiffany Square in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 20, 2023 at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Burial will follow in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Denzel was born on March 3, 1936, in Arnold, NE to Archie and Esther (Bruce) Snow. He grew up around the Brewster area where he graduated from Brewster High School in 1955.
He was united in marriage to Mary Lou “Loy” Sillivan on September 14, 1958, on horseback at Fonner Park. After which the couple lived north of Brewster. They then moved to Broken Bow for a few years. Then moving to Ord and then to Loup City. He worked for Howard Hay Company in Litchfield for many years. In 1990 they moved to the Snow family ranch north of Brewster. After they both retired in 2005, they moved to Ravenna to be closer to family.
Denzel was a member of the Ord Rotary Club and the Brewster Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting and fishing.
Those left to cherish his memory are son, Mitch (Jami) Snow of Malmo, daughter, Shannon (Tim) Kusek of Rockville; grandchildren: Lacy (Cody) Hull, Cody (Deane) Snow, and Brandon Kusek (Andrea Lemmer); step-grandson, Jeremy (Jeanie) Hasenkamp ; and great grandchildren: Huxley, Kiercely and Rigsby Hull and Maylee and Cash Snow; step great grandchildren, Brandon, Kaiden and Jessi Hasenkamp; sisters-in-law: Elajayne Amos, Charlotte Hawkins, Arlene Hughes; brothers-in-law: Mike (Karen) Sillivan, Elvin (Sharon) Sillivan and nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Dean (Samona) Snow; sister, Vada (John) Smith; brothers-in-law: Ellwyn Amos and Gerald Hughes; niece, Karla Snow and nephew, Curtis Smith.
