Dewayne D Dymek

DeWayne D. Dymek, 66, of Alda, NE passed away July 29, 2021. Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, August 9, 2021, at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with Tim Musgrave officiating. Burial will follow at the Alda Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at future date. DeWayne was born on September 12, 1954, in Grand Island, NE to Daniel and Irene Dymek. He grew up in Wood River, NE. DeWayne graduated from Wood River High School in 1972 and attended college in Kansas City and Kearney, NE.



DeWayne was united in marriage to Rhonda Wissing on June 15th, 1992, in Deadwood, South Dakota. The couple lived in Alda, NE and enjoyed their years spending time with children and grandchildren, hosting family gatherings, enjoying time in nature, and having game nights and dining excursions with close friends and family.



For the last 21 years, DeWayne worked in GM new car sales at Tom Dinsdale Automotive in Grand Island, NE. DeWayne worked alongside many close friends, and his work allowed him to serve people and continually make new friends over the years.



DeWayne is survived by his wife, Rhonda; children and grandchildren: Dan (Sarah) Dymek of Omaha, NE and their children: Brynna and Barrett; Nate (Heather) Hartman of Lincoln, NE and their son, Ryan; Ashlee (Josh) Cool of Sutton, NE and their daughter, Leah; Damien (Carmen) Dymek of Yuma, AZ and their daughters: Kaitlyn and Brittany; Randy (Alicia) Dymek of Grand Island, NE and their children: Payten and Daniel, Cody Burton, Lily and Abby Jensen; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Burton; niece, Amanda Dymek of Lincoln, NE and her daughter, Cayleigh; mother-in-law, LaVonne Wissing of Alda, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob (Renee) Racek of Omaha, NE, Marty (Karman) Wissing of Wood River, NE, Mick (Betty) Wissing of Shelton, NE, and Bo (Denise) Wissing of Wood River, NE. He will also be fondly remembered and missed by numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan & Irene Dymek, his brother and sister-in-law, Dan & Jan Dymek, and his father-in-law, Lawrence Wissing.
