Hastings resident, Diana K. Krueger, 55, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings~Village after a long and courageous battle with illness.
Memorial service will be Monday, February 3, 2014 at 10 am at the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hastings with Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in the Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
A memorial will be established in her memory.
Diana was born April 12, 1958 to Ernest and Florence Krueger in Hastings. She attended Unit #9 Special Education School. She worked at Pooh Corner as a food server.
Diana was a Special Olympian Athlete International in Los Angeles, CA in 1972. She enjoyed paint by numbers, latch hook, ceramic painting and word searches. She loved to hand candy out at Halloween, decorating for the holidays and slumber parties with her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Florence and John Woodward of Hastings, two sisters, Debra Whitten and husband Lonnie of Smith Center, KS and Dara Brown and husband Mike of Hastings, one brother, Terry Krueger and wife Sandra of Hastings, step-mother, Deana Krueger of Glenvil, three step sisters, Chris Wilson and husband Murray of Hastings, Sandra Lintz and husband Chuck of Glenvil and Michelle Frank and husband Tim of Hastings and five step-brothers, Steve Martin and wife Julie of Grand Island, Jon Martin of Hastings, Dan Woodward and wife Tawnya of Hastings, Brad Woodward and wife Donna of Hastings and Jim Woodward and wife Kirsten of New Jersey. And many neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest M. Krueger, her grandparents, George and Ann Krueger. Grandparents John Weis and Hazel Venberg.
