Dolores Lorraine Guyette

October 24, 1917 — February 15, 2016

Dolores L. Guyette, 98 of Grand Island, died Sunday, February 14, 2016 at CHI St. Francis Health in Grand Island.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jack Gillam officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation hours will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Apfel Funeral Home, Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Foundation Fund. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Dolores Lorraine Guyette was born October 24, 1917 at Prairie Creek Township of Merrick County, Grand Island, Nebraska the daughter of Herman & Catherine (Frederking) Loeffelbein. She was educated at Zion Lutheran School at Worms, Nebraska, graduating from Grand Island Senior High School. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms.

She was united in marriage to Clarence J. Guyette, March 9, 1963 in Grand Island, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Grand Island where she was employed as a teller at Overland National Bank for 38 years.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ruth Society, Evening Guild, Ladies Liederkranz, Ladies Platt-Deutsche and Past President of the Womens Division of the Chamber of Commerce.

Those left to cherish her memory include, step daughter-in-law, Donna Guyette of Grand Island, step son-in-law George Paro of Grand Island, several step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren, nieces, Darlene (Larry) Bahensky, Julie (Wayne) Whitefoot and Diane Loeffelbein along with several other nieces and nephews and good friend Joan Patrick.

She as preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence, one step son, Bill Guyette, one step-daughter Jeanine Paro, one brother, Milton Loeffelbein and two sisters, Viola Dankert & Irene Peters, two nephews, Kenneth Loeffelbein and Dean Loeffelbein.
