Donald R. Salazar

Donald R. Salazar, 90, of Hastings, NE passed away on May 3, 2023, at his home. His wishes were to be cremated. There will be no services or visitation. Apfel Funeral Home is in care of the family.

Donald was born on May 5, 1932, in Chicago, IL to Eugene Sr. and Bernice Salazar. He attended school until he was able to join the U.S. Army at the age of 17. He entered the Army on May 31, 1949, and served during the Korean war until his honorable discharge on January 16, 1956.

He settled in St Louis, Missouri until retiring to Hastings, NE. Don had a great love of movies so you would often find him at the movie theater most Sunday afternoons. He was mechanically inclined, he enjoyed tinkering in his home as well as on his vehicles.

He is survived by his nieces Penni Holdeman, Cindi Salazar, great-nieces Talli Wallace, Tabbi Berry, and Sierra Nevius, great-nephew Tony Salazar.

He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Sr. mother Bernice Salazar brother, Eugene Salazar, and nephew Eugene Salazar III.
